This Makes Me Mad: Unions To Slight David VanOs?

Annatopia attended a counter-SOTU party in Tarrant County where Chris Bell, Bob Gammage, Barbara Radnofsky, et al, were present and passes on this juicy bit of gossip:
one thing that i feel compelled to pass along is some news about the van os campaign. seems like some of the bigwigs in the unions haven’t been offering financial support to van os, preferring instead to hedge their bets and dump their resources into carole toomanynames’s coffers in the hope of unseating governor goodhair. i think this is a load of crap. david van os was a union lawyer fer christ’s sakes! he’s always fought for the little guy, the powerless, and if it’s true that these organisations aren’t willing to put boots on the ground for him, well houston we will have a problem, you know what i’m saying?
This is very disturbing to me. David has carried our party’s banner for years and, as Annatopia notes, is a “union lawyer.” How can they not support him? How can unions sell out one of their own to ‘bide their time’ for Carole Four Names? It makes no sense.
I hope everyone who logs on today will contribute to David’s campaign for AG. And, I hope my fellow Texas bloggers will call attention to this, put some pressure on the Unions, and bring this rumor to light. If nothing else, we can find out if it has the credence I sadly suspect it does.

First of all, CKMRS and Van Os are not opponents, so donating to her certainly does not preclude donating to him. Second of all, Texas unions are even less influential than the Texas Democratic Party. So what if they don’t support him? They can’t
get him elected. Van Os should direct his attention toward the larger majority-oriented groups that actually can help him win.
David is the perfect candidate for Attorney General. He is passionate about Texas Constitution and fighting for all Texans. He has worked tirelessly for unions for many years and the idea that they are not supporting him his a slap in the face. What will keep him from winning this election is money. The unions have it and they arent giving it to his campaign. What a way to say thanks for all that you have done for us and continue to do. Shame on you!!
