Nancy Grace Is A Moron

I am currently watching the re-run of tonight’s Nancy Grace (which featured none other than former State District Judge and Congressman Ted Poe) concerning the Andrea Yeats case.

I rarely say things like this, but Nancy Grace is a moron. It’s clear that, in spite of being a former prosecutor, she has no concept of Texas law, and no understanding of what it means when a conviction is vacated and a case is sent back for a new trial by the Court of Criminal Appeals. While I’m not defending Andrea Yeats, I will say that Nancy Grace’s show totally mischaractarized the Texas criminal justice system, totally mischaracterized Rusk State Hospital (by, among other things, showing photos of swans at a lake there) and generally made a complete and total ass out of herself.

Clearly, Nancy Grace has never been inside Rusk State Hospital (and probably hasn’t set foot inside very many mental institutions, especially those for the criminally insane), and doesn’t understand that the U.S. Constitution entitles defendants in all criminal cases (even those who have been convicted and then have had their convictions overturned) to a fair bond.

She even criticized Yeats’ attorney for stopping and allowing the Defendant to go to the bathroom and get something to eat. How stupid. Everyone needs to use the bathroom, everyone needs to eat.

Yeats’ great aunt just said it took the jail psychologists four months to get the woman’s meds straight. Don’t you think it might be best for to be treated at Rusk State so she can be competent for her upcoming re-trial? Evidently Nancy Grace just thinks all criminal defendants need to be stoned or something.

Ok. Enough ranting, but Nancy Grace really makes me want to vomit. I just happened to be flipping through the channels, noticed she was talking about this case, and realized she was doing a number on it. Naturally, which is why I normally never watch Nancy Grace.
