GOP Platform Plank Mentioned By College Columnist In Column On Hate

A newspaper columnist at the University of Southern Mississippi’s The Student Printz wrote a column on hate recently and included this little ditty on the 2004 Texas GOP Platform which I just had to share with all of you:
The Republican Party of Texas in 2004, an election year, created for its platform a plank stating, “The United States is a Christian Nation.†There are people, such as Pat Robertson, who will confirm that it is the duty of warriors for Christ to spread the good news of Christ to the non-believers. The mere description of one’s self as a warrior does not produce ideas of love, which was the motivation of Jesus the Christ.
Heck, I just always find it amusing to see the Texas GOP be made fun of.
