GOP Platform Plank Mentioned By College Columnist In Column On Hate

A newspaper columnist at the University of Southern Mississippi’s The Student Printz wrote a column on hate recently and included this little ditty on the 2004 Texas GOP Platform which I just had to share with all of you:

The Republican Party of Texas in 2004, an election year, created for its platform a plank stating, “The United States is a Christian Nation.” There are people, such as Pat Robertson, who will confirm that it is the duty of warriors for Christ to spread the good news of Christ to the non-believers. The mere description of one’s self as a warrior does not produce ideas of love, which was the motivation of Jesus the Christ.

Heck, I just always find it amusing to see the Texas GOP be made fun of.
