CD-17: Republican Primary Heating Up, Taylor Launches Another Nauseating Ad

As noted in CQ Politics, Republican Van Taylor has a new television ad out in CD-17 emphasizing “restraint in federal spending,” and bemoaning the $1 billion dollars per day added to the federal deficit.
Of course, what Taylor fails to note in his ad is that it’s his party and his president that are racking up this massive debt.
You can view the ad by clicking on the screenshot at left or by clicking here, just be careful that the moving banner at the top of Taylor’s campaign pages doesn’t nauseate you; save nausea for the ad viewing.
Taylor is up against former aide to Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) Tucker Anderson in the March 7 GOP Primary.
Taylor begins his new ad, the third this cycle, by complaining about what he describes an “insatiable appetite for wasteful spending.â€
Taylor’s two previous barfathon ads emphasized the importance of border security and highlighted his background as a Marine Corps veteran of the current Iraq conflict.
Taylor has a strong advantage in fundraising over Anderson, which will air its first television ad this week in the district that includes Waco, College Station and some exurbs of Fort Worth and Dallas.
CQ Politics notes Anderson said his television ad will mention his endorsement by the Dallas Morning News, which noted Anderson’s “personal knowledge of Congress and deep connections to Central Texas.â€
Anderson’s ad also will emphasize his past employment as legislative director to Rep. Pete Sessions.
Now’s a good time to give to Chet Edwards, by the way.
