Teacher Rally Turns Into Strayhorn Campaign Event

Via Eye On Williamson County, it appears that a rally this weekend in Austin by teachers groups for more pay turned into a Carole Keeton McClellan Rylander Strayhorn Campaign rally.
The Dallas Morning News has more:
Comptroller and gubernatorial hopeful Carole Keeton Strayhorn attacked Gov. Rick Perry’s handling of school finance Saturday, telling a group of protesting teachers that poor leadership has deprived the state of a solution.
The independent candidate spoke to about 300 teachers rallying for better pay and more classroom dollars at the state Capitol.
“Under this governor, it is us against them,” said Strayhorn, who is aiming to unseat Perry in the November general election. “The sad fact is the governor has so politically fractured our state … the only way to bring Texas back together and get things done is to have independent leadership.”
