More Kay Granger: Her Son To Oversee Trinity Uptown Project

I guess we can just call this “Kay Granger Thursday,” and pray that I never have to lead off the blog with two Kay Granger stories again, but…

It seems the Congresswoman’s son, J.D. Granger has been hired to oversee the $435 million dollar Trinity Uptown project his mother just happens to be a champion of.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram notes:

J.D. Granger, who has worked in various volunteer roles throughout the planning process for the ambitious redevelopment and flood control project, will earn $110,000 a year, said Jim Oliver, general manager of the Tarrant Regional Water District. Granger will work for the district, which is the agency spearheading Trinity Uptown.

Granger, 36, who has worked as an assistant district attorney for Tarrant County for eight years, will begin his new job Monday.

Former City Councilman Clyde Picht, who has long questioned aspects of the project and is running for the water district board, said the appointment of Granger is “asking for criticism.”

“His knowledge of water district affairs is certainly more limited than most people,” Picht said.

I’d bet I know more about water district affairs than this guy.
