Facts About Texas You Didn’t Know, Vol. 1

I’ve run across another lovely Legislative Budget Board publication that I’ve enjoyed so much I’m going to turn it into a regular feature called “Facts You Didn’t Know About Texas.”

Every day (or maybe just every so often), I’m going to take a factoid from the 2006 Texas Fact Book and let you know how Texas compares to the rest of the country.

Here’s today’s Fact You Didn’t Know About Texas:

According to the most recent statistics (2004), Texas ranked 37th among the 50 states in terms of anual job growth (.4%) and 42nd among the states in average hourly earnings ($13.89).
