She’s thanking the SOS from New Mexico for her hospitality. Some excerpts:
And Democrats beliee in the things that bring us together as one state and one strong nation by celebrating our diversity…by protecting our freedoms…by raising our families out of poverty…and by respectin our privacy by trusting women and families to make their own family planning choices.
Afterall, ladies, how can we trust the government in our bedrooms when we already know that we can’t trust a Republican not to leak a top secret file, we can’t leave a Republuican Coongresman aone for one minute with a corrupt lobbyist, and we can’t even trust Dick Cheney even for one day with a shotgun?

The vision of Texas Democrats is clear. Texans deserve a state and nation that offer all people the opportunity to succeed, fulfill their dreams and utilize their talents for themselves, their families and their communitites. And if those fundamental Democratic principals sound familiar to you, they should: you wrote ‘em. They are in the preamble to the Texas Democratic Party Platform that we wrote and approved at this convention two years ago.
She’s now introducing the senators. They are all coming to the stage… no wait, they aren’t.
Now introing nominees. Much less applause for Uresti in SD 19 than I would have expected. Kirk Watson is getting more applause than Uresti. Always liked Watson.

I loved Van De Putte! She was hilarious. I especially liked when they started playing “Hit the Road Jack” as an ode to DeLay.
