2006 Texas Democratic Party Convention Podcasts

As promised (at long last) here are the “podcasts” from the 2006 TDP Convention. If you don’t have an IPod or other Mp3 player, relax: you can play these in Macromedia Jukebox, which is shareware, and possibly on other devices as well (Windows Media Player?).

Also, I have a fairly good amount of “bandwith” avaliable, according to my hosting service. However, I do know it is possible to exceed my normal monthly bandwith allotment. Toward that end, I’m going to ask that you please download these instead of try to listen to them without downloading them, as I am told that will reduce bandwith usage (somewhat). I’m throwing this out there because I have had about a dozen and a half emails from around the country asking when I’ll post the Clark MP3 in the last two days.
Also, if you enjoy these interviews, I will ask that, in lieu of offering to make any gift to help offset hosting costs (already had one offer of that), that you donate to the candidates listed below; the contribution links are the “$” signs next to their websites.  Since Sen. Barrientos isn’t running, you will note no website or other indication appears by his interview below.

Also, if you want to link to these interviews, PLEASE DO NOT LINK TO JUST THE MP3! Please link to this post itself, so we can help send some netroots love to these candidates.

Here they are:

Barbara Radnofsky’s Address to the Blogger’s Caucus (website, [$])

Wes Clark’s Address to the Delegates (all but the first couple of minutes)

Portion of Sen. Gonzalo Barrientos’ Speech To The Delegates (about the first two minutes)

Interview with Sen. Gonzalo Barrientos back stage after his speech

Interview with Joe Farias, Candidate for Texas House, District 118 (website [no contribute section on site, but contact is here])
Interview with Karen Felthauser, Candidate for State Rep., HD 52 (website, [$])
Interview with Nick Lampson and Lampson Campaign Manager Mike Malaise (website [$])
Interview with Paula Hightower Pierson, Candidate for State Rep., District 93 (website, [$])

The Joe Farias interview is the only one I’ve had time to listen to so far, but I was generally disgusted with it. He could barely articulate his points, most of which dealt with his opponent instead of the issues, and he propably wouldn’t have made it for seven minutes if the interviewer hadn’t prompted him at every turn. Regardless of ideology, this man obviously can’t fight for district 118 in Austin; he’s not rhetorically skilled enough to change anyone’s mind, and he certainly won’t represent the district in a professional manner.

Wow. Don’t you have anything better to do than to hit every website that Mr. Farias is on and try and slander every word he says. I think the Republicans have a little more to worry about than losing this race AGAIN. Besides, I have heard Mr. Antuna speak, and if he is not talking about supporting the Minute Men and sending our hard earned tax dollars to the border counties to keep the immigrants out, He is talking about how is immigrant mother is his biggest role model. Sounds to me like you should be disgusted with your own party and teach him how to review what he is about to say. As far as fighting for distric 118, he has lived in this district ALL his life, except when he fought for this great country in the Vietnam War, unlike his opponent.
