No Redistricting Decision Today

By Vince Leibowitz  on Jun 26, 2006 in Redistricting

The Supreme Court ruled in a number of cases today, but not redistricting. It is now expected that the decision will come down Wednesday.

One political case ruled on was from Vermont, and it dealt with contribution and spending limits in political campaigns:

By a 6-3 vote, said Vermont’s limits on contributions and spending in political campaigns are too restrictive and improperly hinder the ability of candidates to raise money and speak to voters.

I suppose we shall all be on pins and needles until Wednesday. Darn the SCOTUS for delaying this until the last minute of the term.

I am wondering if that means it will be an unpopular decision for the Republican president, majority in congress and majority-GOP Texas administration?

One can only hope.
