“Blow The Doors Off” For Juan Garcia
By Vince Leibowitz on Jun 27, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections
In 2002, when the Texas Association of Businesses was bragging about “blowing the doors off” the election by electing right-wing Republicans to the Texas House, one of the candidates most indebeted to them was State Representative Gene Seman (R-Corpus Christi), Eddie at The Red State notes.
Now, we have the opportunity to help blow the doors off in the other direction by helping Juan Garcia, who is running against Seaman this cycle.
Garcia is a strong, vibrant, viable candidate. I know we’re all being asked to give and give and give about now, but this is one of those moments and one of those races where your contribution—even $10 or $15—can really make a difference and work toward putting Juan on the “radars” of major donors across the state and across the country.
HD 32 is a seat we must reclaim for the people of Texas.
While “Colorado Gene” is hunkered down in Vail, Colorado hoping his fatcat lobbyist friends and Republican-leaning PACS fresh with cash from James Leininger and Bob Perry will win his campaign for him, dozens of grassroots volunteers—from students to senior citizens—are making contact with voters in HD-32 and showing them that Gene Seaman is out of touch—and out of the district.
Let’s send Gene Seaman on a permanent vacation to Vail and out of HD-32.
