Kudos To The Johnson Women: Standing Up For The VRA

Luci Baines Johnson and Lynda Johnson Robb have an op-ed in the Houston Chronicle on why the nation still needs all of the provisions of the Voting Rights Act their father stood up for during his presidency.
I love the last paragraph:
In his own era, our father faced powerful opposition to the Voting Rights Act, including from members of his own party. Nonetheless, he pushed forward with the legislation because he knew it was desperately needed. It was the right thing to do then. It still is.
So true.
Luci & Lynda, your daddy would be mighty proud of you. Texas Democrats should be, too.
