CD 22: Six Words To Sum Up David Wallace’s Fund-Raising

You’ll recall earlier that I told you about Sugar Land Mayor David Wallace’s poor fund-raising performance and failure to meet his own fund-raising goals in the free-for-all that is the (stalled) race to replace Tom DeLay.
Well, it looks like Wallace isn’t just the presumed heir to the DeLay throne: he’s also following the DeLay lead in who he is accepting money from.
Six words should sum up what I’m trying to say here…let me see…hum…hummmm…which six words should I use…oh, I got it:
David Wallace took money from Halliburton.
Yep. That’s the same Halliburton that Vice President Dick “I Inadvertantly Shoot People In The Face” Cheney used to be CEO of. That’s the same Halliburton that served contaminated water to the troops in Iraq. That’s the same Halliburton that the Army just decided to fire from an Iraq contract after billions in questionable costs. The same Halliburton that overcharged the government for hurricane clean up.
So, if the Fifth Circuit does decide in its infinite right-wing wisdom that DeLay can get off the ballot and Wallace is the one that replaces him, Nick Lampson’s got him on paper laying on the ground, rolling under the cow and sucking at ever-flowing Halliburton teat, serving only the milk of corporate greed and corruption.

Vince — it is more likely that you will be the GOP nominee for CD22 than it is that David Wallace will get the nod.
Not because of his having received legal donations from American citizens who work for Halliburton.
Because David Wallace has, since April, consistently made decisions and engaged in actions that have turned off the precinct chairs in three of the four counties in CD22 — and a majority of those in Fort Bend County as well.
Right might have something there; if Robert Durst doesn’t want the nomination, maybe they’ll give it to Vince.
