Gene Seaman’s Donors Jumping Ship

House District 32 is far and away one of the top chances Democrats have in the House this cycle to “flip” a seat (another being Martha Wong’s district in Houston).
And, in anticipation of flipping that seat, consider this:
Longtime Republican donors to incumbent Gene Seaman (R-Corpus Christi) are jumping ship and supporting his opponent, Democrat Juan Garcia.
Garcia has raised $205,640.95 since January from about 400 individual donors. A couple of Seaman donors who have jumped ship are Dr. Michael Mauger of Corpus Christi and retired Foreign Service Officer and Republican Lynn Lee of Rockport.
In a Garcia press release, Mauger & Lee had this to say about why they were jumping off the Seaman Ship:
Said Dr. Mauger: “It’s refreshing to see a young man with his qualifications step up. He’ll be a breath of fresh air in the Capitol.”
“Communities like Rockport have been paralyzed for years from a dearth of leadership across this district,” said Lee. “I admire and share Juan’s dedication to public service and am excited to finally send someone of his integrity to Austin.”
“Paralyzed for years from a dearth of Leadership?????” Wow. Strong and harsh words that Seaman’s former contributors have for him.
Clearly, Seaman, who has spent part of the summer at his vacation home in Vail Colorado, is in serious trouble.
