I’ve heard from a few people in the district tonight that Henry Bonillia’s campaign is running push-polls tonight and talking up Bonillia and talking down all of those who are opposing him.
The poll reportedly has the typical “push poll” deceptive questions and is glowing about Bonillia.

Remember that book Tom DeLay talked about a few weeks ago? Evidently, he now has a deal to publish the darned thing:
“This is a book that’s going to be the history of my career, how it furthered the conservative cause, with my spiritual walk and what I think the conservative cause ought to do next,” [...]

With every election cycle, there are always those candidates who are “in and out,” “in and out.” I never thought we could add Ciro Rodriguez to that list, but evidently he’s having some doubts about withdrawing.
Evidently, his supporters in South San want him in the race, and are pledging money to back him:
Rodriguez’s spokeswoman, Gina [...]

This just in: Nick Lampson won’t run in the special election Perry has set to fill DeLay’s seat—which will be held on election day and will result in someone holding the seat for a grand total of two months (if that):
“I have decided against running in the special election,†Lampson said. “This entire process has [...]

Former U.S. Congressman Ciro Rodriguez, citing “family and personal reasons,” has withdrawn from the race to unseat Congressman Henry Bonillia (R-San Antonio) in the free-for-all election that resulted from a court-ordered redistricting plan.
Rodriguez was one of six Democrats, including San Antonio’s Lunkin Gilliland, Albert Uresti, and Rick Bolanos, who was the Democratic nominee against Bonillia [...]

If nothing else, perhaps this will stop Rick Perry from telling us how proud he is of Texas—and himself:
Texas has some of the poorest counties in the nation and continues to have the highest rate of uninsured individuals. But it also has cities with some of the largest household incomes in the country, according to [...]

The Republican Party (nationally) now has a great excuse to not give Shelley Sekula-Gibbs that promised $3 million dollars, which—let’s face it—only about five people in the entire state thought would materialize anyway.
It seems that former (perennial?) Congressional and U.S. Senate candidate (from the ‘93 free-for-all) Don Richardson didn’t ask the Secretary of State to [...]

Wow. Someone—other than the people running against him—actually seem to want to hold Henry Bonillia accountable for something:
Personally, I’m eager to see if Bonilla has the tripas to walk into a few taquerias in the district and explain a few things [...]

Kevin Brady and Roy Blunt were blowing some pretty serious smoke up the rear ends of the folks in Hardin County last week, according to the Hardin County News.
U.S. House Majority Leader Roy “The Smokin’” Blunt was on hand as well—hence the fancy podium with the U.S. Houst of Representatives Logo in the midst of [...]

A few weeks ago, the Governor’s office and the Texas General Land Office were adamantly denying any plans to sell any park lands whatsoever. This was all during the furor surrounding the possible sale of lands in the Black Gap Wildlife Management Area.
You will no doubt recall that, in my initial post on the Black [...]
