What’s Up With The LaRouche Youth Movement

By Vince Leibowitz  on Aug 7, 2006 in Uncategorized

I have to say that this is the first time I’ve heard about a swarm of LaRouche Youth Movement supporters causing an uproar at a congressional press conference. However, Gene Green (D-Houston) was the victim of such at Lee College on Saturday:

Congressman Gene Green fielded a variety of questions on affordable health care, free trade and wind insurance during a sometimes-tense Town Hall meeting at Lee College Saturday.

Of the nearly 40 people at the meeting, a handful were supporters of perennial third-party presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche.

The college-aged LaRouche supporters peppered the Congressman with questions about free trade and blamed NAFTA for siphoning off American industrial jobs to Mexico and China, where labor is cheaper. They said the free-trade agreement is hurting the economy and low-wage industrial workers, specifically young adults.

“A lot of the youth are joining the military because they can’t see a future,” said LaRouche supporter Brent Bedford.

Green, D-Houston, responded by saying he voted against NAFTA in 1993 and is for maintaining a strong industrial base in the United States.

“I think every country has a right to protect its industrial base,” Green said. “I don’t think its fair for us to be exporting our industrial capacities to foreign countries for lower wages.”

But he also seemed alarmed by the fact that none of the LaRouche supporters were his constituents and questioned the integrity of their leader, saying, “I have a pretty low opinion of Lyndon LaRouche’s ideas because he was convicted of a felony.”

Green added, “If you think LaRouche is going to be the savior of our country, you’re wrong.”

As a supporter of free speech, I can’t say the LaRouche supporters weren’t exercising their rights to protest. But, you would think they’d do so before their home Congressman, rather than try and steal the show at a town hall dedicated to actually getting information and help to Green’s actual constituants.

As a result of the LaRouche group’s actions, much of the remainder of the Green meeting was summed up as follows:

But free trade and Lyndon LaRouche weren’t the only items addressed in Saturday’s meeting; concern about affordable, quality health care for the elderly and middle class were also prominent issues.

Personally, I’d have love to have known what a solid Democrat like Gene Green had to say about some of these issues (as, I am sure, would his constituants). But, thanks to the LaRouche folks being more interesting to the media, we haven’t a clue.

Lately, I’ve heard a lot of talk in Democratic circles about the LYM folks and the huge growth they seem to be experiencing. And, given the growth that group seems to be having, we may be dealing with them on this level for a while. I wonder how many more episodes like Green’s we’ll see this election cycle? More alarming than that are the assertations that the LYM is a cult, via Wikipedia.

They do it to all candidates they can. They walk in passing out their worthless literature and clogging up our trash cans.

We keep a eye on them. They are not allowed to pass out information at our functions anymore unless we are on public property.

I don’t know what their goal is, but if it is to piss people off, then they are doing a hell of a job.

Yeah what’s up with that. They were all over the rally at the Fort Bend Democrat headquarters when Bell visited there last. One visiting candidate was actually talking to them thinking they were part of out group.

Technically they are Democrats - the paper had it wrong.

They are being paid by the LaRouche organization to build support for his ideas of reindustrializing America and a massive jobs program.

The article does make it clear the local issues and other topics were discussed.

I think some of the LaRouche people will be good Democrats once he dies. Right now it is a cult lead by a felon who has a vastly inflated opinion of himself.

Used to be they were 50-70% crazy, now it seems like only 10-20%. they support impeachment and have been warning about Bush since 1999.

Thanks for the heads up on this.
I should have snapped to it when I was at the courthouse last month:
There were Larouche rags in all the
    magazine racks.
    Figures…
While the Moonies are pulling strings
in Washington, Lyndon’s Latahs attack on the local level. I remember something like this
    happening about 20 years ago.

The Larouche Youth are composed of very mixed up kids with home issues who dropped out of college to join the cult. Larouche needs young blood to replace the last several generations of recruits who are left in disgust, are dying off and cost too much to feed, house and have high medical costs.

Their latest frenzy is over Obama where Larouche would like his posse to string up Obama so to speak.

Just check out what these “democrats” are up to based on gettting several brainwashing spin cycles of hate by the convicted felon who has been doing this for decades with naive people.

This is from a speech for INTERNAL members a few months ago.

“”I mean: Obama is a racist. I mean, with an African father–he wasn’t much of an African father, but was an African father of Kenya. He was part of a British operation, which took over Kenya, through MI5’s operation. But this guy was away from Kenya, and he married a Margaret Mead type, a woman who had a number of successive husbands, like Margaret Mead did. Went out to the poor, brown people, in Asia, and had sex with them! It was called “Coming in Samoa.” [groans, laughter] And she wore through a number of successive husbands, and by them, had various children. And therefore, you’ll find Obama’s ancestry, if you chase his family tree, everybody’s climbing and swinging from the branches there–from all over the world! All parts of the world! This guy is the universal man. Every monkey in every tree, from every part of the world, has participated in the sexual act of producing him. And he works for organized crime–which is a branch of British intelligence.

So why are people sucked into this thing? And what’s wrong with the way we react to this phenomenon, as it affects the population in general? It’s not just Obama. Obama is a disease, but he’s not the infectious agent that caused the disease. He’s a product of the disease, not a cause of it”

These are creepy people who masquarade as Democrats in the same way Laoruche puts on a maks and proclaims himself an Economist who has to stop Al Gore from working with the Queen of England to start a New Dark Ages. It is all a clap trap of lunacy and a cult of personality using whatever hot button issues to attract people who thing that they are democrats instead of a creepy cult. They stole 30 million dollars in the 1980-s when Larouche was running for the White House.

Just google Larouche and cult, or fraud or anti semitism.
