David Wallace Gets An Endorsement, And It’s Worth Nothing
By Vince Leibowitz on Aug 10, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections, Replacing DeLay
According to a spiffy email sent out by the David Wallace campaign down in CD-22, the Replacement Player himself has been endorsed by Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert.
This endorsement is worth…absolutely nothing. Honestly, I think all three George Bushes (HW, W, and P), and a parade Playboy Bunnies could endorse Wallace and it wouldn’t amount to a warm pitcher of spit thrown from the back of a moving train.
Why? Because he’s a write-in candidate. And he’s got more baggage than Imelda Marcos would need just for her shoes. Let’s just say the land deals in Sugar Land are as sweet as honey sugar. More on that later.
But, Wallace things he can rise above all that:
This could be the largest write-in effort in Texas election history, and I am asking you to be part of this. Can I count on your help? Please visit my Web site and tell me how you can help.
…even though bloggers in his own district think he’s (the sugar sprinkled on French) toast:
Despite a rash of drive-by media commentary yesterday, he is most certainly not the favorite to become the write-in candidate the GOP will unite behind. And as a result of his penchant for anointing himself the frontrunner (did the same thing in April when DeLay announced), he has permanently impaired his chances of ever obtaining this seat.
The DCCC wasted no time exposing his history of questionable ethics and business partners / ventures yesterday afternoon. We’ll soon see if my Mayor intends to follow this all the way through…
Chris, I will be borrowing the term “drive-by media commentary,” from time to time. You can have it back when I’m not using it.
Texas Safety Forum also brings us more CD-22 news…that Harris County Tax Assessor Paul Bettencourt may be the “New Hotness” in the ‘race to replace.’
