DeLay Gets Off Ballot

Tom DeLay has withdrawn his name from the November ballot.
In his letter to Secretary of State Roger Williams, DeLay noted, “current circumstances, of which you are very much aware, compel me to take this action in order to ensure that the people of District 22 have the opportunity to elect a congressman who truly represents their interests, goals and values.”
Since there are no other legal requirements other than a request in writing for a candidate’s name to be taken off the ballot, this is the end for DeLay.
