Henry Bonillia: Desparate For More Cash

By Vince Leibowitz  on Aug 19, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections

Via Roll Call, Henry Bonillia has asked the Federal Election Commission if he can re-solicit from donors who have reached their election cycle max to his campaign as a result of redistricting:

Woah. This means Bonillia is anticipating a tough race.

It also means Bonillia doesn’t think he’s going to find too many new donors in his new territory. It also means he may fear a Republican opponent.

Oh come on Vince… do you expect us to believe you’re that dense? =)

If the situations were reversed by party, then you’d be demanding the privilege for your guy.

Chris, I don’t want to speak for Vince, but the words I read from him seem to be observations on what Bonilla may or may not be thinking. I don’t see any condemnation from Vince in this post at all.

    You sure it means this?
Could it mean he wants to raise
extra funds in this cycle to have
    on hand in 2008?
He could hold the funds until he
runs for Senator if Cornyn retires,
    right?
Or use them for a challenger who
may appear two years from now —
from among the guys who think
they will find a later time to
run a better time than now.
