God Save Us From Kay Granger

The second ‘Kay’ in our Congressional Delegation is evidently going to make a run at some GOP leadership post next year. Of course, that will probably thwarted when Democrats win a majority and she is relegated to the Janitorial Arts Sub-Committee of the Sub-Committee on Indoor Refuse of the Agriculture Committee:
Republican Rep. Kay Granger of Fort Worth may be ready to make her move for a leadership spot in the next Congress.
[...]
Granger, first elected in 1996, isn’t saying whether she’d run for conference chairwoman — a high-visibility post held by Rep. Deborah Pryce, R-Ohio — or one of the other Republican leadership posts.
“People have talked to me,” she said with a slight smile as she stood in the speaker’s lobby outside of the House chamber recently. “I haven’t made a decision.
We know she won’t be running for RNCC, which Joe Barton (R-Ennis) is salivating over. And, we know it won’t be the Republican Study Club, since we all know Jeb Hensarling (R-Dallas) covets that spot relentlessly.
