Did The Debate Change Anyone’s Mind?

By Vince Leibowitz  on Oct 6, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections

Coyote Mercury, a Texas blog I read from time to time, was one of the “undecided voters” leaning toward Strayhorn going into tonight’s debate.

Well, he’s now a decided voter, and he’s decided for Chris Bell. Check out this well-written look at the gubernatorial debate here.

As an independent liberal/leftist who sometimes votes Green (well, at least while they still had a functioning party), I was a Kinky Friedman supporter. His comments of late were questionable, but worse yet was his inability to make them go away and make all Texans rally around him. I went into the debates with an “anybody-but-Perry” attitude, and Bell won my vote.

The debate changed my mind and that’s unfortunate because I was planning to vote for Bell.
