Lazy Friday Link Dump

By Vince Leibowitz  on Oct 6, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections

Ok. Look, it’s Friday. So, I’m going to be lazy. No fancy pants “let’s look at little numbers in a graph and write about vote trends until four in the morning” for me today. Un uh, no siree.

Sadly, because I’m feeling lazy today, you’re on your own. (Well, I will try to post some more later this afternoon, but for now, just follow the links and thank your lucky stars I love my readers so much I won’t let you go a day without at least some CapitolAnnex fix.

| Did Carole Strayhorn Buy Her Toll Party Endorsement & Publicity? | Ok, so the Statesman doesn’t come out and say that, but the story surely implies it. Evidently Carole Kleenex Rylanderlicious McFlurry Strayhorn gave the toll party $5,000.00 And for that, I’ll actually say, “Thanks Carole Shanaenae Riboflavin Snuffleupagus,” because, after all, the Toll Party’s been buying up ad space on Democratic blogs all across the state thanks in part to your contribution (we’re so sure). Hey, we may not agree with you, but we’ll run your ad, because we’re sell outs. (Not really).

| John Wiley Price Has Seen The Light! | Ok, so if you’re not from or living in, say, a 100 mile radius of Dallas, the name “John Wiley Price” probably means nothing to you. But in Dallas, it means everything. And, evidently JWP has changed his mind about Carole Strayhorn being the best candidate for governor, so notes the Dallas Morning News.

| When Jesse Jackson’s In Texas, It’s Important | Aside from the BP thing on the Gulf Coast earlier this year, and perhaps a few trips here and there over the years, I don’t recall seeing that much of Jesse Jackson in Texas in the last couple of decades (and I may be wrong about that). Anyway, when Jesse does come to Texas, you know it’s important. And this week, he called for change in Texas…change in the governor’s office. And, he’s supporting Chris Bell. Awesome.

…and…

The Statesman hands Van Taylor his ass on a silver platter over his newest ad

Rick Perry, mired by his record, is a mere two star governor

You must watch this anti-Gene Seaman ad, which ties Seaman to Tom DeLay….(ewwww, that sounds more gross than Monica’s blue Gap dress).
