Monday Round-Up
By Vince Leibowitz on Oct 9, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections
Mondays are usually slow goings in the Blogsphere early in the day, so here’s a bit of a round-up:
Statesman on Bell: The Austin American-Statesman has a ‘bio’-type article up on Chris Bell. I’m not sure if this is the first of several on each candidate, but I suspect it may be. I can’t make up my mind if the article is “positive” or “mean” in nature; it seems to venture from one end to the other. What do you think? Tell us in the comments.
National Farmers Union for Bolanos: I’m surprised that both the NFU endorsed a Democrat and that they picked Bolanos. I’m not certain of their power in this particular district, but Karl-Thomas at BOR believes it will drain votes away from Bonillia. That’s probably likely, but to what extent, I don’t know. Bolanos isn’t likely to even place fourth in the general and certainly won’t make it to a runoff even with this endorsement, but it’s an interesting one.
Go Muse, Go Muse!: The Muse over at Musings has totally led the charge against the ethically challenged State Rep. John Davis and his $1500 pair of boots (among his lesser transgressions, actually). Anyway, the story (weeks after she started investigating it) finally caught the attention of the mainstream media, who ran with it. Remember: it came first from a blogger.
