Dewhurst & The Defibrillator

We’ve not heard much out of Lt. Governor David Dewhurst this election cycle. He’s just kind of blended into the background like the patter on some bad 80s wallpaper.
But, now, he’s come out in support of something. And folks, I’m warning you: brace yourselves, because this is a very controversial issue Dewhurst is supporting here:
Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst pledged Monday to push for a law that would require all public schools to have at least one automated external defibrillator on campus by the start of next school year.
Wha what? Now let’s be real honest here: there is no question that few—if any politicians (except maybe Ron Paul) would oppose putting defibrillators in public schools.
One reason Dewhurst’s been…uh, overlooked, by the MainStream Media this cycle is because everyone’s focused on the governor’s race. But who would have thought Dewhurst so needy for some publicity that he’d hold a press conference to pimp the defibrillator issue? I’m almost surprised he didn’t call for a freaking special session on it. After all, he must be desparate for publicity.
