TX-118: Why Is George Atuna Begging For Dollars In Houston?
Vince Leibowitz | Oct 11, 2006 | Comments 1
House District 118 is in Bexar County.
So, why is Republican George Atuna hustling for bucks in Houston with a big-bucks campaign contributor who Rick Perry took to the Bahamas with him?
That’s right, folks, Republican George Antuna, former carrier of Kay Bailey Hutchison’s purse and fuzzy number cruncher to Rick Perry went down to Houston so John Nau, Perry’s fellow traveler to the Bahamas, can raise money for him.
Instead of bothering with the folks in his district, Antuna is hobnobbing with Senator “Let’s Build A Wall!” John “Box Turtle” Cornyn, who was a special guest at an event Tuesday in Houston.
Nau and his fellow hosts have been raising money for and donating money to fringe Republicans like Antuna for years. Here’s a partial list:
Tom DeLay- $18,000
Dennis Hastert- $6,100
George Allen- $9,000
Henry Bonilla- $2,000
Yep. Antuna’s committee in Houston raised money for Dennis “Nobody Told Me About Mark Foley!” Hastert.
Now, they’re raising money for Antuna. Amusing.

What your name calling lacks in validity in more than makes up for in creativity. Your list of “fringe Republicans” has no fringe Republicans on it. Delay and Hastert were/are part of the Party Leadership, so they were chosen by the majority of Republicans, and Allen is a reasonable Presidential question mark.
