Somebody’s Scared!
By Vince Leibowitz on Oct 13, 2006 in 2006 Texas Elections
Aw, look! Rick Perry’s scared of Chris Bell! Isn’t that cute? He’s so scared he’s running a “sharks in the water” ad that’s so negative it’s far more like what he ran in the last two weeks of the campaign against Sanchez in 2002.
The one thing the Perry camp doesn’t even realize it has done is raise Chris Bell’s name-ID. What? That’s right. For that few percent of the 40-45 percent of Democratic voters who aren’t in tune with things enough to realize there is a Democrat in the race or who don’t know his name because Bell hasn’t been on TV yet now realize, “Oh, if Rick Perry’s calling him a liberal, he’s a Democrat. So this is who we vote for.”
Plus, since Bell hasn’t attacked Perry in a TV ad yet, you can bet that this will turn some people off, because Perry’s going on the defensive in a media in which he hasn’t been attacked.

Perry just does not like Bell and is burying Bell since Bell torpedoed his own race with the silly request to Kinky.
Also, please stop deleting posts just because you disagree — unless you want to be compared to Stalin. Or, do you not believe in the First Amendment.
It’s three weeks out from the election and Bell’s still waiting for half the *Democrats* in the state to learn his name? So they know to vote for him?
This is not good news for the party or for Chris Bell.
