<description>Ted Ankrum took Bastrop County for one reason: &quot;boots to the ground.&quot; There were less than a dozen of us to win six precincts, so we recruited volunteers and hit the ground running. We phonebanked before his runoff in April. We blockwalked &#039;til dark the two weekends before the election. We phonebanked in the week or so leading up to the election. We made a commitment to give Bastrop County to Ted and followed through.

We have to give kudos to the Democratic Party county chair who was unbelievably cooperative and helpful to us. The good Democrats in this county worked hard to turn Bastrop County Blue!!!
