HD 33: Thanks to Noyola, Ortiz & McComb Must Face Runoff

As you will no doubt recall, Texas Governor Rick Perry called a special election to fill the term of Vilma Luna in HD 33 in addition to the regular election (both of which were held last night).
Thank’s to Perry’s use of the HD 33 special election co cover the overly politized nature of the special he called in CD 22, Solomon P. Ortiz, Jr. now faces a runoff in mid-December to determine who will hold the steat until he (the winner of the real election) takes office in early January.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
Anyway, Republican Joe McComb came in with 43.47 percent of the vote, Ortiz, Jr., came in with 43.95. Danny Noyola, another Democrat whom Ortiz defeated for the actual nomination polled 12.57 percent.
