Cornyn, Hutchison Get New Leadership Posts In Senate

By Vince Leibowitz  on Nov 16, 2006 in Texas Congressional Delegation

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has moved up and become the fourth-ranking Republican in that chamber as Chair of the Republican Policy Committee following elections on Wednesday.

Senator John Cornyn is now part of the leadership as he follows in Huthison’s footsteps becoming vice chairman of the Republican Conference.

Given that Republicans are in the minority in the U.S. Senate, it’s doubtful how much influence Hutchison and Cornyn will now have over anything over than Republican issues and Republican policy promotions.

Can’t wait for Cornyn’s next re-election campaign to see more of that picture of him presenting Tom Coleman of Tulia fame the “Officer of the Year
    Award.”
