Texas Republicans Win Congressional Leadership Posts, But Not Barton

Although Joe Barton (R-Ennis) took himself out of the Congressional leadership races and Pete Sessions (R-Dallas) lost his race for NRCC Chair, a pair of other Texans did win marginal party leadership positions in Friday’s elections.
Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-Texas) was selected Vice Chair of the Republican Conference and John Carter (R-Round Rock) was elected Secretary of the conference in an unopposed race.
