Debate On Amendment 3 To HR 35

Tommy Merritt (R-Longview) is speaking now, speaking in favor of a secret ballot and his amendment, HR 35 Amendment 3 which allows ballots to be counted and then destroyed.
He’s holding up a ballot from an Iraqi election and saying noting that the amendment says “counted and destroyed” for the ballots, so people aren’t threatened by lobbyists.
Hartnett has now moved to table the amendment.
Told to vote from their desk. It is a record vote.
91 eyes, 57 ayes, motion to table prevails again.
