Cover Of DeLay Book Sparked Fight Among Editors

By Vince Leibowitz  on Jan 15, 2007 in Replacing DeLay

According to the New York Post, the cover of “No Retreat, No Surrender,” Tom DeLay’s new book due out March 20, created quite a furor among editors at Penguin’s Sentinel Publishing.

The fight over the indicted former Sugar Land Congressman and House Majority Leader’s Book Cover? It was over a decision between having DeLay alongside a flag and a cross versus a smiling DeLay against a black backdrop.

The cross and flag lost out.

When fascism comes to Tom DeLay, he will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross (apologies to Sinclair Lewis).
