Perry’s Appraisal Task Force Makes Five Key Recommendations

Quorum Report has obtained a copy of the Task Force on Appraisal Reform’s final report.

IN short, five statutory measures and one constitutional change are proposed:

Statutory:
. Require Voter Approval for Spending in Excess o Reasonable Levels of Government Growth
. Improve Fairness of the Appraisal Process
. Change Comptroller’s Property Value Study
. Prospectively Prohibit Unfunded State Mandates
. Require Sales Price Disclosure
Constitutional Measures:
. Add Consistency to appraised Taxable ValueFor Taxpayer Protection and Relief
