Amendment 2 To Amendment 1 To HR 4

By Chisum…didn’t get to hear what it was about, sadly.
In the meantime, here is the Villarreal Amendment (Amendment 1 to HR 4).
Burnam is now asking Chisum a question. Evidently the amendment makes it easy to amend the Villarreal amendment. Burnam asks if it is a mockery. Chisum says it wasn’t intended that way, but to allow memebrs to get things important up.
Burnam: Do you understand the reasoning Villarreal has offered the amendment? Because the minority party has been totally disrespected for four years? Do you understand the effect that this would have? (Chisum’s amendment?) Every member of this house would temporarily be a member of the calendars committee.
Chisum: The purpose of the minority party is to engage in this process…You’ve cut yourself off, if you do this…
Colman has a PI: Is it appropriate for a member of the house to threaten a member of the opposite party over a vote from the front mic?
Craddick: I wouldn’t think so.
WOAH. It’s getting a tad bit nasty in the lower chamber.
Puente withdrew his amendment.
Villarreal is back up. “I offered this amendment with an atempt to find common ground….it is obvious that there has not been the same goodwill in reciporcating…”
Withdrew his amendment and move to vote on original resolution.
