Chisum Proposes Compromise That Would Allow Local Bills Through Lege
By Vince Leibowitz on Feb 1, 2007 in Uncategorized
State Rep. Warren Chisum (R-Pampa) has filed HB 189, which would allow local measures like the ones some reps were getting parinoid about, to go ahead and make it through the House.
In essence, it would suspend the constitutional provision on what can be considered during the first 60 days of the session with regard to local bills. It still, however, will require a 4/5ths majority to pass.
