Moving Up The Primary: Doesn’t Matter For The Money
By Vince Leibowitz on Feb 1, 2007 in Uncategorized
I read with interest this story in the Dallas Morning News about moving up Texas’ primary date. Of course, if every state had their way, we’d have 50 primaries crammed between New Year’s and St. Valentine’s Day.
Of course, Texas could hold its Primary on Christmas Day and (aside from seriously quashing voter-turnout), it wouldn’t change one simple fact: the money from wealthy Texans to presidential candidates will continue to flow uninterrupted.
Whether it is Senator Clinton, John Edwards, or whomever, a lot of the big bucks come from Texas.
