80th Legislature: Bonuses For Charter Schools
By Vince Leibowitz on Feb 7, 2007 in 80th Legislature
Put this in your “you have got to be kidding me” files:
A bill introduced in the Texas Legislature Tuesday would give bonus funding to charters schools that show high levels of achievement. The new legislation would give high performing charters, an additional $1,000 per student, if they are found to be exemplary two years in a row.
I am no fan of charter schools, and I don’t think that this kind of bonus structure is appropriate by any means.
