Happy St. Valentine’s Day from Capitol Annex!
For those of you with significant others, make sure you go out and buy your Ramen and crackers today, because by Thursday, you’ll be broke after paying $295 for a dozen roses, $140 for a box of crappy chocolates, $70 for a faux fur teddy bear, $200 for a fancy dinner and mediocre wine, and an undisclosed amount for diamonds, fancy undergarments and other stuff.
For everyone else, you have two options: (a) thank your lucky stars you get to keep your cash and celebrate on your own or (b) go out and find a support group.
Either way, don’t buy any candy today. Wait until early Thursday morning and go to the department stores and get it for 50 percent off. They’ll have to move the stuff to get in the Easter candy.
Anyway, since Capitol Annex *hearts* its readers so much, here’s a Wednesday link dump:
Brains and Eggs has an excellent look at the TDP federal lawsuit over eSlate machines.
Kuff, the newest Daddy in the blogsphere (congrats, Charles!) has a great piece on how voters are going to be given the option to vote on whether or not to bust the spending cap.
Partisan Progressive, the newest contributor at North Texas Liberal has a fantastic article on how two federal Social Security regulations help penalize Texas teachers.
The Caucus Blog has a great post about Reps. Coleman and Farrar standing up for GLBT issues in the Texas Legislature.
Check out Texas Liberal. It is a new blog I don’t think I’ve mentioned to you before.
