Perry Signs Spending Cap Bust

By Vince Leibowitz  on Feb 24, 2007 in 80th Legislature

The Spending Cap has officially been busted.

Texas Governor Rick Perry Friday signed the measures passed by the House and Senate that raises exempts money for his bogus property tax cuts from inclusion in monies that would normally go against the cap. DMN has more:

In signing the measure, Mr. Perry said it will “allow the state to keep an important promise we made last year to lower Texans’ school property tax rates by one-third.”

That’s not all Perry did. By signing the “bust resolutions,” he put his insignificant property tax cuts above human needs like Children’s Health Insurance, education funding, tuition deregulation, healthcare, and the needs of our most vulnerable and needy Texans.

We’ve written about the Spending Cap a lot, and encourage you to check out our previous posts if you want a recap of what’s happened on that.

Since the property tax cuts are “insignificant”, I guess you won’t mind that I get a $1000 TAX CUT. Now I know you would prefer universal health care rationing, guaranteed incomes, etc., but I’ll take my tax cut.
