Perry Declares TYC Reform An Emergency Measure

Texas governor Rick Perry today declared that TYC reform is an “emergency matter” which means that the Legislature may immediately take up legislation which would create the office of Inspector General for TYC. It is unclear as yet, as the declaration is not yet online, whether this would also allow for the fast-tracking of other TYC legislation.
