Bill To Fire TYC Members Clears Senate Criminal Justice Committee

Via the DMN:
The Senate’s Criminal Justice Committee unanimously approved a bill Tuesday that would fire all the current members of the board of the Texas Youth Commission, and members said they hope to bring it before the full Senate on Wednesday.
Let’s be honest: This legislation should be unnecessary. Before the Joint Select Committee called for the resignations of the board, Governor Perry should have fired them.
No word, of course, on what Perry thinks about today’s action, since he’s in Dubai.
The Texas Youth Commission needs a housecleaning from top to bottom, and that includes its board.
