VIDEO: Rep. Laubenberg Goes Off

Many of you may remember from our coverage of the HB 1 debate last Thursday that there was a very heated exchange between Rep. Jodie Laubenberg (R-Wylie) and Rep. Rafael Anchia (D-Dallas) over the CHIP pre-natal and perinatal program.

Laubenberg had an amendment which would have knocked 95,000 participants off the program. When Anchia questioned her about this, she screamed at him.

Capitol Annex now has video of this incident. It’s about 8 minutes long, and the heated exchange is at about 3 minutes and 20 seconds into the video. Watch the whole thing, though, because it shows just how hart it was to pin her down on her “facts,” and what she says whan Anchia tells her it is an “anti-life” amendment.

And, check out the “I’ll be back!” at the end. It’s great.

The video is also on Google Video here.

I thought this video was so amusing and telling. You could just about see the steam pouring out of her ears and feel the rumble of the gears in her tiny brain grinding together when the consequences of her silliness were explained in terms that a third-grader should be able to understand.
