Toilet Debate

At present, the House is debating CSHB 416, which requires that customers who suffer from an eligible medical condition are to be given access to an employee-only restroom in retail establishments during normal business hours. The bill is by Strama and was inspired by a little girl with a health condition.
Debbie Riddle, (”She-Rra, Defender of Small Business Bathrooms!”) is trying to make it sound like businesses are going to be terribly put out by this.
“We don’t need to start legislating where people need to go to the bathroom,” Riddle says.
She says this sounds like big government and just got BOOED DOWN.
P.S. to Riddle: The government already does legislate where you can go to the bathroom. It allows for the adoption of ordinances, etc., against public urination. It means you can’t pee in an ally or public park. Hello!
The phrase “explosive, unannounced, …diarrhea” was just uttered on the floor of the House by Rep. Susan King as she was helping Strama make his points on the bill.
