Back From Austin

In case you hadn’t figured it out yet, I’m finally back from Austin.
I’ve tossed a couple of photos into this post from the trip. First, I had the opportunity to have a quick photo with Rep. Senfronia Thompson (D-Houston), who we all wish was Speaker of the Texas House this session.
In addition my sister, Sylvia, was a page on the floor of the House yesterday. Before we left the Capitol, we posed for a few photos, including the one at right. And, while we were there, my mother, Debbie Leibowitz, was recognized with HR 1630 for her achievements in education (including being named “teacher of the year” recently) and had the opportunity to be recognized in the House from the Speaker’s dias.
I was in the House for a lot of the Voter ID bill debate, but had to keep getting up and leaving because the debate was so….well, you know….
