Who Is Reading Capitol Annex (QR!)
By Vince Leibowitz on May 1, 2007 in 80th Legislature
Ok. So, who reads Quorum Report? Well, for one, I do (a Democrat!). Pretty religiously (yes, a lot!). And, I’ll admit that I’ve shared with Capitol Annex Readers information from over there (usually citing the source!) (unless I (a Democrat!) forget!).
So, it’s with a good natured poke in the ribs (not the eye!) that Capitol Annex provides you the following.
This is from a post of mine last week:
The list was ultimately read and was (and this includes the missing names
from QR’s list): Aycock, Callegari, Chisum, Darby, Flynn, Hughes, Hopson (a
Democrat!), Hill, Harless, King, P., Morrison, Macias, Miller, Murphy,
O’Day, Orr, Otto, Patrick, Pickett, Pitts, Smith, Taylor, West, Zedler and
Zerwas.
It should be noted, thanks to our numerous and varied sources (and we mean varied!) hiding in bathrooms (back hall ladies!) and under desks (maybe yours!) all over the Texas Capitol, that Capitol Annex was the first (and for a while the only!) internet news/opinion source to have the complete list cited above (yes, that list!).
This is from a post up at QR right now (right now!):

No doubt, Capitol Annex did not invent alphabetical order (Al Gore!) (which, it should be noted, wasn’t strict alphabetical order since, if it were, “Hopson” would come before “Hughes”!), and the odds are probably greater than the state lottery (yes, that good!) that someone else (a Democrat!) could put the names in the same order. But, that little “(a Democrat!)” looks awful familiar and quite unlike normal QR writing (quite unlike!).
So, it looks like QR may have borrowed from Capitol Annex (a Democrat!) without saying so. And, that’s ok, because we borrow from them and, after all, we’re all about information sharing (though we don’t charge a subscription fee!) more than one-upsmanship (a Republican!).
So, as jealous as we are of the fact that QR (a website! it’s like a blog without an RSS feed!) has a Capitol Press Pass (a damned press pass, yo!) (to, like, get on the House Floor, yo!) (and we don’t, like, yo!), we are not going to ask State Rep. Vicki Truitt (not a Democrat!) to write legislation that would outlaw QR or declare such acts “seditious slander” (define that and win a free i-Pod!) (we’re lying about the free i-Pod) or something like that. No, no, we’re too kind here at Capitol Annex. And, we like the fine folks at QR, so we’ll give them a pass. And, we’ve probably done the same thing to them before (unintentionally, of course!).
(but we’re pretty sure we at least changed the words or set it off as a direct quote!).
(don’t hate the playah, hate the game!)
(is there anything else I can put in parenthesis!)
(no, I guess not!)
(wait…oh, never mind!)
