Did God Make Craddick Speaker?

The Midland Reporter-Telegram has an interesting interview with Nadine Craddick in which she comments on her husband’s victory in the Speaker’s Race earlier this year.
“You could feel it and it was a triumphant day,” Craddick recalled. “If you’re supposed to be there, you’re supposed to be there, it’s up to God.”
So, if I understand that correctly, God ordained Tom Craddick as Speaker? I wonder what he thinks about the rumors there will be a motion to vacate the chair?
