Republicans Line Up For Ron Paul’s Seat

By Vince Leibowitz  on May 21, 2007 in 2008 Presidential Race, 2008 Texas Elections

With Ron Paul (R-Surfside) running for President, other Republicans seem to be lining up to go after the CD-14 seat although there is every indication Paul will terminate his presidential campaign early and seek the seat again.

First up to go after the seat on the R side seems to be Friendswood Mayor Pro Tem Chris Peden who will  be making an announcement concerning his intentions on Thursday. Given the look of his website, it appears his intentions will be that he’s running (since he was mentioned as a frontrunner back in February).

Even if Paul stays in the CD 14 race once he predictably abandons the Presidential run, chances are his anti-war rhetoric will earn him a hand full of GOP opponents anyway. Peden

I don’t think it would have been so bad for Dr. Paul if he hadn’t basically said on national TV that the U.S. invited the 911 attack. Now, also, the wonderful video from a house party of him talking about Government Cover-Ups (ex: The Kennedy Assassination (HIS words) and of course, 9-11) When I was asked to help on his campaign, I declined, but I DID give a word of advice I see was NOT taken: Be careful what you say.
