The Mysterious $168 Million: A List

By Vince Leibowitz  on May 22, 2007 in 80th Legislature

A list is circulating on the House Floor of where some of this mysterious $168 million in alleged Craddick hold-on-to-my-speakership bribe money is going. Check out the list. This money is spread all over the state.

Hat tip to Texas Weekly.

That’s an old list - the new one is up to $164 million.

The list is a lot longer than that, given what Craddick has been handing out all session. The State Historic Sites and millions of associated dollars, for example, were handed to his buddy and major supporter John Nau–chairman of the rinky-dink Texas Historical Commission. All under the guise of logical stewardship agency, blah, blah, blah. Harvey Hilderbran was the conduit–in exchange for his pledge to Craddick. Oh, and Hilderbran is getting a new museum in his district. Nice party favor in exchange for a new Speaker’s apartment.
