Tuition Re-Regulation Is…

By Vince Leibowitz  on May 22, 2007 in 80th Legislature

…dead. Just thought you should know. Holly Hacker (is that her real name? It seems too quiant for a blogger…just too quaint….) just sounded taps for it over at Capitol Letters.

Wow! Any more missed opportunities this session and Craddick gets a set of steak knives!

That was a HUGE missed opportunity, and I think we can lay a lot of the blame on Senator Zaffarini - one of the only Democrats to support deregulation the first time around, who heard plenty of testimony against dereg this session and still didn’t Senator Hinojosa’s SB 85 out of committee.

Senator Williams wanted to amend Shapiro’s top 10 percent bill to include a provision capping tuition prices at universities who take advantage of the changes to top 10 percent, but alas, it went nowhere.
