Melissa Noriega Wins!!!!!

Melissa Noriega has won the run-off for Houston City Council At-Large Position 3!!! With 80 percent or so of the boxes reporting, she has a commanding lead of 55.69 percent over Roy Morales. This seat, of course, is the one given up by Shelley Sekula-Gibbs when she took her six-week seat in Congress.

We’re very proud of Melissa, wife of State Rep. Rick Noriega (D-Houston), who has also served as a State Rep in her husband’s stead while he was serving in the Texas National Guard. Rick and Melissa are truly one of the up-and-coming, rising-star “power couples,” in Texas politics.

We wish Melissa (and, of course, Rick) all the best in these and all future political endeavors.
